Dr. Amrita Rath is currently a Postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Interfacial Process Engineering and Plasma Technology (IGVP), University of Stuttgart in collaboration with Fraunhofer Institute of Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (IGB). She is working on designing and fabrication of high strength structural material using biopolymers with green chemistry approach and a living biopolymer that can convert carbon dioxide to oxygen. Her research interest includes responsive biopolymers, nano-biocomposites, nano-mechanical properties evaluation, molecular simulation.
She received her Bachelor’s degree (2012) in Mechanical engineering from Institute of Technical Education and Research, Bhubaneswar, India. Later, she pursued MS and Ph.D dual degree program from department of Applied Mechanics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras where she was awarded a Ph.D degree in 2017. For a brief period of time she was working on template-based synthesis of nano-structures as a visiting researcher with Prof. Patrick Theato at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, KIT Germany.
